Chemical Characterization of Texas Lignite Chemical Characterization of Texas Lignite 1986

Statistical analysis of chemical data on Texas Eocene coals revealed startigraphic and geographic trends in lignite quality. Chemical data on near-surface coals wre obtained from various private and public sources. Seams from deep-basin coals were compared.

Hydrogeochemistry and water resources of the Triassic lower Dockum Group in the Texas panhandle and eastern New Mexico Hydrogeochemistry and water resources of the Triassic lower Dockum Group in the Texas panhandle and eastern New Mexico 1986

Topographically controlled ground-water-basin divides, established during the Pleistocene by erosion of the Pecos and Canadian River valleys, prevent ground-water recharge in the outcrop of the Triassic Dockum Group from entering the confined part of the aquifer in the Dockum Group beneath the So

Recent Production Trends and Outlook for Future Oil and Gas Supplies in Texas Recent Production Trends and Outlook for Future Oil and Gas Supplies in Texas 1986

Oil and gas production in Texas peaked in 1972, but the state still contributed 28 percent of oil production and 33 percent of gas production in the United States in 1984.

Fracture analyses of the Palo Duro basin area, Texas panhandle and eastern New Mexico Fracture analyses of the Palo Duro basin area, Texas panhandle and eastern New Mexico 1986

Fractures and veins in strata of the Palo Duro Basin area, Texas Panhandle and eastern New Mexico, are characterized using data from outcrop and core studies and from fracture identification log analysis.

Stratigraphy and petroleum potential of pre-Pennsylvanian rocks, Palo Duro basin, Texas panhandle Stratigraphy and petroleum potential of pre-Pennsylvanian rocks, Palo Duro basin, Texas panhandle 1985

Pre-Pennsylvanian rocks in the Palo Duro Basin include (1) basal transgressive marine Cambrian(?) sandstones deposited over Precambrian basement, (2) overlying Lower Ordovician dolomites of the Ellenburger Group that formed when shallow seas covered much of the North American continent, and(3) Mi

Late Cenozoic geomorphic evolution of the Texas panhandle and northeastern New Mexico -- case studies of structural controls on regional drainage development Late Cenozoic geomorphic evolution of the Texas panhandle and northeastern New Mexico -- case studies of structural controls on regional drainage development 1985

Salt dissolution has affected parts of the Upper Permian Salado, Seven Rivers, San Andres, Glorieta, and upper Clear Fork Formations beneath the Pecos River valley in eastern New Mexico and has been active beneath the Canadian River valley and the Rolling Plains of the Texas Panhandle.
